It's all about BROWS! Tutorial using ELF Eyebrow Kit

IT'S A TUTORIAL YAY!

By popular request, here it is. A tutorial on how I fill in my brows!

This isn't the "correct" or "only" way to fill in brows, this is just what works for me and my brow shape. Hope it helps!

Diablo III Inspired Makeup

Before anyone asks, it's not cosplay (I wish)!

I've been playing some Diablo III again lately, after not playing for a couple years. What struck me immediately when I logged on again was the dark art style. It's absolutely gorgeous; I had forgotten how much I love it.

The character that you are as a player of the game is basically a person who feels drawn to a place where a star fell from the heavens and the dead are rising around it.

Benefit High Beam Review

Benefit High Beam review!

At girls night last week, my good friend Bailee brought up the need for her makeup looks to be dewy. We both took a second to fangirl over Carmindy (a makeup artist from WNTW), who always looks so glowy and dewy. It's some touched-by-an-angel shit.

What's this about?

Hey guys!

This blog is a place for me to post stuff I do with makeup, and maybe some occasional relevant life thoughts, such as this:

I see beauty as something very subjective, even though we as a society have come to accept some trends as standards for beauty. Unfortunately, it seems to have gotten to the point that these standards tell us what is acceptable and what is not. In reality, what is acceptable aesthetically to any given person is 100% up to that person alone.

When I wear makeup, I'm not doing it because I feel pressure from society. I don't feel like I have to hide under makeup, or wear it to reach a standard that will make me "pretty" or "good" enough for the world. I wear makeup because it's a form of creative expression, and it inspires me. Enhancing or even downright changing the features of my face into what I visualize is rewarding. It forces me to look at myself in a different way, appreciate my natural features and work with them to create something. That has given me so much appreciation for my canvas, and the canvases of others who do the same with makeup.

So for the most part, you'll see makeup looks, tutorials, and reviews on this blog. But sometimes some of my thoughts on the concept of beauty itself will creep in! I feel some kind of social responsibility to be open with how I feel about makeup.

And why is it called "coffee_pls"? That's my reddit username, instagram username, and twitter username (with an extra underscore). I already post makeup stuff there, and I wanted something easily rememberable for all the cool cats who know me on those platforms already. Also, I kind of get really irritated with beauty blog names that include the words "pretty" or "lovely" and stuff like that. Just. *shudder* Not for me.

So there you have it. See you next time!
